ABSTRACT
Aims
Included in the social pathology topics, the administrative and cultural damages of the employees in the organizations especially include their behaviors, characteristics, procedures, attitudes, customs, beliefs, and reactions. The aim of the study was to investigate the administrative and cultural damages of the employees of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation.
Instrument & Methods In the survey study, 694 employees of 1988 employees of Tehran Martyrs and Veterans Foundation were studied in 2010-11. The subjects were selected via stepwise cluster sampling method. Data was collected by a 3-part researcher-made questionnaire assessing the demographic information, the administrative and cultural damages of the employees, and the indices of the proposed model. Data was analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, Chi-square, Kendall, and stepwise regression tests.
Findings Job satisfaction (p=0.004), job motivation (p=0.031), relative deprivation (p=0.0001), the managers’ managing style (p=0.0001), perceived organizational justice (p=0.0001), the religious beliefs (p=0.001), socio-economic status (p=0.001), and the educational level (p=0.001) were significantly correlated with the administrative and cultural damages of the employees of the Martyrs and Veterans Foundation. About 38% of variance and the administrative and cultural damage changes were predicted by seven study indices.
Conclusion Some of the factors affecting the administrative and cultural damages of the employees of the Martyrs and Veterans Foundation are job motivation, the managers’ managing style, employees’ relative deprivation, perceived organizational justice, job satisfaction, the religious beliefs of the employees, and the organizational opportunities.
