The aim of this study was to evaluate the factors affecting educational failure from the perspective of the students in School of Allied Medical Sciences of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
Materials & Methods This cross-sectional study was performed on 1150 students of Allied Medicine School of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, who were studying in 3 educational levels of BSc, MSc and PhD in 2012-13 academic year, and 150 persons were selected, using simple random sampling method. Data collecting tool was a two- part questionnaire including 5 questions of demographic characteristics and 6 subsections of ‘family factors’. Independent sample T test and ANOVA were used for data analysis.

There was a significant relation between the students’ sex and socio-economic, environment, educational content and lecturer related factors. There was a significant relation between the employment status of students and the domain of the factors related to the educational content.
