ABSTRACT

Aims One of the efforts that organizations must take to protect human resources is enhancing job satisfaction in the personnel. The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural model of the effect of mindfulness on job satisfaction with the mediating role of occupational well-being in the personnel of the North Khorasan Police Department.
Materials & Methods This correlational study was performed using the structural equation modeling method in all administrative personnel who was employed at the North Khorasan Police Department (N=537) in 2018. 217 samples were selected by the clustered random sampling method using the Krejcie and Morgan tables. The data collection was performed using the Occupational Well-being, Five-Facet Mindfulness and Job Satisfaction Scales. Structural Equation Modeling Method was used to test the proposed model. AMOS 24 and SPSS 24 software packages were applied for data analysis. The bootstrap method was used to investigate the indirect effects.
Findings Mindfulness, occupational well-being, and job satisfaction were significantly correlated with each other (p<0.0001). In order to achieve a better fit, the two paths of "accept without judgement" and "nonreact" were correlated.
Conclusion Mindfulness has a direct positive effect on job satisfaction. Also, occupational well-being can play a mediating role in the relationship between mindfulness and job satisfaction.
