BRIEF TEXT

Physical activity is effective in flourishing various aspects of the personality of society and plays an important role in the health of society.

… [1-7]. Hope for a healthy and happy life is a new concept that affects the quality of life of people [8]. Hope in life is a positive motivational state based on a sense of stability and guidance and is the product of one's interaction with the environment. In other words, hope is a mental set that is based on the mutual sense of will and planning to achieve the goal [9]. … [10-18].

The purpose of the current study was to model the types of physical activity on quality of life, life expectancy and life satisfaction in female teachers of Qom city

This research was a descriptive-analytical study.

This study was conducted on 140 female teachers in Qom city in the academic year 2017-2018 who were selected by convenience sampling method.

According to the number of variables in the study (7 variables), the sample size was 140 people [19], which was selected from the schools of the three educational districts of Qom by available sampling method.

The research instruments were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), 36-Item Short Form Survey (SF-36), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and, Snyder's Hope Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation test and structural equation modeling using SPSS 22 and AMOS 20 software.

Most of the samples aged 30 to 39 years and had a bachelor's degree. Also, 42.9% of them exercised more than a year, and once a week (Table 1).There was a positive and significant correlation between the dimensions of physical activity, quality of life, life satisfaction, and life expectancy (Table 2).According to the values obtained from the fit indices, the proposed research model had a good fit (Table 3).In general, the variables of physical activity, quality of life, and life expectancy with a coefficient of determination of 54% were able to predict life satisfaction of female teachers in Qom. A significant decrease in the coefficient of the path of sports activity towards life satisfaction in the presence of physical health dimension of quality of life from 0.39 to 0.19 indicated a slight mediatory role. Also, reducing the mental health dimension of quality of life from 0.39 to 0.25 and the variable of life expectancy from 0.39 to 0.16 indicated a slight mediatory role. In other words, the physical health dimension of quality of life, the mental health dimension of quality of life, and life expectancy mediate the relationship between sports activity and life satisfaction in the sample of female teachers in Qom (Table 4 and Figure 1).

… [19-31]. The results of the present study showed a significant relationship between physical activity and life satisfaction of female teachers, which is consistent with previous studies [14]. Other studies have examined the relationship between physical activity and life satisfaction and concluded that participation in physical activity can increase life satisfaction [16, 32, 33].The results of the present study showed that the physical and psychological dimensions of quality of life had a significant relationship with the life satisfaction of female teachers, which is consistent with previous studies [36]. … [37, 38].

It is suggested that in future research, more samples be used in different provinces and different ethnic and cultural conditions, regardless of gender.

One of the limitations of the present study is the lack of cooperation of some teachers due to their busy schedules.

Doing physical activities by increasing the quality of life and life expectancy leads to increased life satisfaction in female teachers.

We would like to thank the Department of Education officials of Qom and all the teachers who cooperated in the research.

None declared.

The present study was approved by the ethics committee of Qom University (IR.QOM.REC.1398.012).

This research was funded by the Qom University.
